I remember being disgusted by those pepe the frog images when i was 14, i never knew there was an actual purpose behind creating them though it seems very obvious now.
Even though there's no doubt some individuals created those images just because they got a kick out of drawing them, there was definitely a purpose behind posting them. It was not 4chan just acting retarded and putrid for no apparent reason; they wanted to be perceived that way.
